– It is with deep love and gratitude that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and matriarch, Dorothy Pankey, who peacefully left this life on August 18, 2025, at the remarkable young age of 99.
Born in St. Joseph, Missouri, she lived a long and fulfilling life marked by faith, devotion to family, and a spirit of generosity that touched everyone who knew her.
Known for her warmth and compassion, she always gave from the heart—whether it was offering wisdom to her children and grandchildren, caring for loved ones in times of need, or simply sharing a moment of joy.
She had a gift for making those around her feel seen, valued, and loved.
She will be remembered for the countless lives she influenced with her love, strength, and unwavering dedication to ALL.

HOMEGOING SERVICES
The Wake will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Chapel. This will be a special time for family and friends to gather, share cherished memories, and find comfort in one another’s presence as we honor her life.
The Homegoing Celebration will be on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 3809 N. 90th Street, Omaha, NE 68134. The Viewing will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by the Homegoing Service beginning promptly at 11:00 a.m.
Whether you are traveling from near or far, your presence will bring warmth and love to this meaningful occasion. As you enter the sanctuary, may you feel embraced by Dorothy’s spirit of devotion to family and faith. Together, let us celebrate a remarkable life as we give thanks for God’s everlasting Grace.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE (REPAST)
After the burial ceremony, we welcome you to Good Shepherd Hall for a Celebration of Life Repast, where we will gather to share memories, break bread, and continue the fellowship that so beautifully reflects Dorothy’s spirit.

When and where is the Homegoing Service being held?
